What is TV Roulette?

TV Roulette is a free web app that picks a random movie or TV show from the Netflix catalog in a country you choose. You set a few filters, spin, and get one title with a synopsis, rating context, a trailer when we have one, and a link toward Netflix.

It is for the nights you would rather decide than browse. It is not a full Netflix search, not a watchlist manager, and not an official Netflix product.

Is this affiliated with Netflix?

No. TV Roulette is built by Code Mint Studios. Netflix is a trademark of Netflix, Inc. We are not associated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Netflix. Availability data and watch links can change without notice because we are reading a catalog, not operating the service.

How do you choose the title?

You choose movies or TV, an optional genre, a quality band, and a watch region. We then pick at random from titles that match those filters and look available in that country.

“Good” quality stays in higher public scores. “Bad” quality opens lower scores for a chaotic night. In some English-language catalogs, with genre left on All, we can also serve from lists we maintain. Otherwise we query the regional catalog. Details are in How TV Roulette works.

Why does watch region matter?

Netflix licenses titles by country. The United States library is not the Spanish library is not the Turkish library. We spin against the country in the dropdown so the suggestion is more likely to be playable for you.

Language on our site (English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Turkish) does not change the catalog. Only Watch region does. If you use a VPN, match the dropdown to the Netflix country you can actually open — we do not follow the VPN automatically.

What does the quality toggle do?

It is a public-score band, not a critic award. High quality prefers stronger scores (and, when genre is All, more recent years). Low quality aims at roughly the 2–6 range so you can opt into a so-bad-it’s-fun night.

A high score can still be a film you dislike. Spin again, or read the quality-filter guide before you blame the wheel.

Do I need an account?

No account, no sign-up, no profile of your taste stored by us for recommendations. We remember your cookie choices in the browser, and we may remember the region you picked for the session. Netflix still needs whatever login you already use to actually watch.

Is TV Roulette free?

Yes. The wheel is free. We may show ads to keep the lights on. You can reject personalized advertising in Cookie settings; depending on Google’s rules and your region, ads may then be limited or non-personalized.

Where do synopses, posters, and trailers come from?

Catalog search uses a third-party Netflix availability API. Details and trailers often come from public movie databases such as OMDb. We do not write those plots. Our original writing is the site copy, the how-to pages, and the guides.

If a poster or trailer is missing, that is usually a gap in those sources, not a missing Netflix title.

I already saw this title / I hate this title. What now?

Spin again. We try not to repeat the same title in the same filter set during a session, but we cannot know your Netflix history. Change genre or format if the pool feels small. If you are hunting one specific film, type it into Netflix instead of waiting for the wheel to stumble onto it.

The Watch on Netflix link failed. Why?

Usually the watch region does not match the Netflix you are logged into, or the title left that country after our data last refreshed. Confirm the dropdown, then try another spin. Catalogs move.

How is this different from the homepage sliders?

The wheel is one random title under your filters. The sliders are extra browsing: popular, new, or poorly reviewed titles for the selected region. Use sliders if you want to poke around. Use the wheel if you want the evening to start.
