What we would have spun in June 2022

Peaky Blinders season 6, The Umbrella Academy season 3, Hustle, and Spiderhead. June 2022 was a good spin month if you ignored the day-by-day dump and the VPN advice.

The old June 2022 post was a day-by-day inventory (June 1 Anchorman, June 30 Bastard!!) plus a note that you could “use VPN and watch any Netflix movies based on the country.” That last sentence is both bad advice and a bad look: TV Roulette matches the catalog you can actually play. Here are the June 2022 titles we would still stand behind as spin-worthy. They were widely reported at the time (Peaky Blinders season 6, The Umbrella Academy season 3, Adam Sandler’s Hustle, Joseph Kosinski’s Spiderhead).

What we would have spun

Hustle (June 8) — Sandler as a basketball scout. This is the June movie we would have set movies + high quality for. Sports, slightly sweet, one sitting. A better random than God’s Favorite Idiot.

Spiderhead (June 17) — Miles Teller, Chris Hemsworth, from a George Saunders story. Movies, high quality, for a group that will tolerate a grim sci-fi premise. Not a first-date film. A good wheel film if you asked for something you would not browse into.

Peaky Blinders season 6 (June 10) — TV, high quality, continuation only. If the room was not already with Tommy Shelby, the wheel should not have been used to start at the end.

The Umbrella Academy season 3 (June 22) — same rule, more superhero. TV. If you wanted a new comic-book feeling without homework, June 24’s Man vs. Bee (Rowan Atkinson, short) was the honest finite pick.

Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area (June 24) was a remake, not a substitute for finishing the Spanish series. Spin it only if the group wanted that specific version.

Licensed June 1, briefly

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Anchorman, and We Are Marshall were part of the early-June licensed drop. Fine movie-night raw material. Not a listicle. If the wheel hit Anchorman on a comedy setting, that is a successful spin. If it hit a title nobody in the room recognized from a regional original, check watch region before you blame the recommendation.

What we will not repeat

We will not paste thirty dates of every standup special and kids’ series that landed that month. We will not tell you to VPN into a random flag. If your Netflix country changed, set the dropdown to match. If it did not, leave it on home.
