What we would have spun in May 2022

Wait for Stranger Things 4, or spin Love, Death & Robots and the licensed rom-com pile. May 2022 was a patience test with a good wheel underneath.

May 2022 had a date everyone knew: Stranger Things 4, volume 1, on May 27. The old post said so, then pasted every other title from 42 to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and suggested a VPN. The useful article is shorter.

If you were waiting for Hawkins

Do not use a roulette wheel to “find” a show you are already counting down to. From May 1 to 26, spin other things or pick a different night. On the 27th, type Stranger Things into Netflix. The wheel’s job is indecision, not a premiere party.

If part of the group had not seen seasons 1–3, May was for catching up — again, on purpose — not for hoping volume 1 would make sense cold.

What we would have spun instead

Love, Death & Robots: volume 3 (May 20) — the best May discovery spin. Short films, mixed tone, high quality, TV (or the closest format). You can watch two episodes and stop without a loyalty oath. If a result from this anthology feels wrong, skip to another episode; that is the format.

The Lincoln Lawyer (May 13, series) — TV, high quality, legal procedural. A solid “we need a show that isn’t sci-fi” pick while waiting for the 27th.

Senior Year (May 13) — Rebel Wilson, finite comedy. Movies. Easy.

Our Father (May 11) — documentary, and only if the room asked for true crime. Do not let All + high quality ambush a date night with fertility fraud.

Licensed May 1 titles that were actually playable: Forrest Gump, When Harry Met Sally, You’ve Got Mail, Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Gentlemen. That is a movies + comedy or drama + high quality night. The same drop also had Jackass and Rambo: Last Blood. Genre exists so those do not share a sofa by accident.

What we will not do with this month

We will not list every kids’ title that landed (Blippi, Octonauts, My Little Pony). We will not tell you to VPN into a bigger catalog. If you were travelling in May 2022 and Netflix stayed on home, keep watch region on home.
